Clever Hands Knitting Pattern 62
Suitable for all knitters.
This easy to knit pattern uses 8 ply, Two A4 colour charts for both sides of the stocking are provided, plus graphs for the 26 letters of the alphabet. There is also a blank chart provided for alternative lettering.
In some of the illustrated stockings we have used Jolly & Joy Sparkle 8 ply yarn or the thicker Jolly & Joy Chain yarn. You can also use Milford Metallic thread combined with a plain 8 ply yarn to achieve that same sparkly Christmas effect.
The stocking features an edging of white fluffy yarn worked in garter stitch. The loop used to hang the stocking is also worked in garter stitch. There are a few rows with simple decreases at either the beginning or end of the row, plus the seams to sew together.
A great way to practice some basic knitting stitches, learning to follow a simple colour graph and sewing.
Measurements:
Height – approximately 20 cm or 8 inches
Boot width – approximately 16 cm or 6 1/3 inches
Top of stocking width- approximately 11 cm or 3 1/3 inches
Materials:
1 x 50g 8ply main colour
1 x 25g of 3 contrast colours in 8 ply
1 x 25g boucle or fluffy yarn
Equipment:
4 mm & 3.75mm needles
Wool needle for sewing
Scissors
